Founded in 1927, JVC has been owned by Matsushita since 1953. In 1932 JVC began producing radios and introduces the first TV to Japan in 1939. In 2005, JVC joined the HANA, the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance to help establish standard in consumer electronics interoperability. In the early 2000s, JVC played a huge role in advancing video recording methods. JVC developed the first DVD+RW DL in 2005 and won multiple awards for its technological efforts in developing consumer digital camcorders. These digital camcorders include the ground-breaking hard drive Everio digital camcorders and Everio HD digital camcorders. JVC also produces editing equipment, video/data projectors, storage systems, security products, DVD players, digital storage devices, audio/video accessories and high-quality TVs.
